Serving as Pastor & Wife

The Lord in his wisdom often sends out his workers, two-by-two.  More often than not, the ‘two’ are husband and wife, together serving the Lord.  This can be a huge help in pastoral ministry, taking away some of the loneliness that is inherent to Christian service.

Nevertheless, it can take some time to think how best to support one another in Christian ministry.

Questions such as the following are really important:

What way is it possible for my wife to be involved in congregational life?

How open should our home be, especially if we have young children?

Should my husband set time aside to help me in my opportunities to serve?

Should I have friends in the congregation where my husband is the pastor?

How much time should we try to have to ourselves?

Do I have to be perfect? What kind of qualities should I have and strive for?

It is to help couples get answers to these sorts of questions that this course is offered to those who are serving together, often as husband and wife.

See the FAQs to find out more.

You don’t have to move.  You can do the course from where you live for the most part.

No. There will be local workshops with others who are also taking the course. These will be led by those who already have experience so that you can learn from their experience.

Not really.  However, there are questions that you are to reflect on at each stage in the course.

Not at all.  While it may help to give some ideas to those who are already serving as a couple, it is also designed to prepare others for new opportunities to work together.
