Assistant Minister, Rosskeen Free Church of Scotland
"What I learned in my time in college has provided the foundation for my preaching and teaching ministry and it was invaluable. The emphasis on exegesis, in particular, was invaluable."
Calum MacMillan (although better known as Calum 'Honda'), is currently the Assistant Minister at Rosskeen Free Church working with Rev Iain MacAskill at Rosskeen since October 2009.
He loves the work and the people and writes: "My duties (shared with Iain) include taking assemblies in the various schools in the area, preaching, pastoring, mentoring, youth work and work with those struggling with addictions.
I studied at the Free Church College from 2006 till 2009 and I loved my time there and made great friends. The fellowship between the students (and indeed the staff!) is great, but more importantly the teaching we received there was excellent. I cannot begin to say how much I learned in my time there, though I wish I had taken in more!
What I learned in my time in college has provided the foundation for my preaching and teaching ministry and it was invaluable. The emphasis on exegesis, in particular, was invaluable. The Gospel remains 'the power of God unto salvation' as much in 2010 as it ever was, though the constant challenge is to present it both relevantly and understandably. I would not hesitate to recommend the college to any who might be considering it."
